What is Pressure Washing

While we are the soft wash cleaning experts in Bergen County, NJ, there are some exterior surfaces that pressure washing works better on. We have the training, knowledge and experience to use power washers correctly and safely.

Many buildings over time lose their new pristine look due to road grime, motor exhaust and mineral deposit stains. Aging of wood, stone or brick can be renewed to revive the professional look of your building. Graffiti, peeling paint, bird droppings and other residues devalue your property and lose appeal.

Buildings, garages and windows need cleaned on a regular schedule. We’ll clean up all those unsightly marks using pressure cleaning, scrubbing and treating with environmental cleaners to renew and maintain a clean company appearance.

Our power washing technicians are trained in the best methods for the cleaning of your businesses exterior surfaces; we use commercial grade equipment along with eco-friendly cleaning agents to bring the luster back to your storefront. We are able to remove the dirt, grime, mold and mildew from the building as well as gum spots and oil stains that make the sidewalks and cement areas look dirty and uninviting.

You only get one chance to make a first impression; let us help you make that first impression one that brings more customers thru the door to your business.

What to Expect

The use of high-pressure cleaning equipment is generally recommended for surfaces that are harder and less porous. Sidewalks, driveways, and even garage floors are commonly cleaned using high-pressure power washers. The results are great and there is little threat of damaging concrete surfaces. Again, if there are questions about specific cleaning needs, it always pays to discuss the project with an expert before making any decisions. It’s also possible to use power washers on some types of modern siding. Some of the fiber-cement siding products now being used should be safe to clean with higher pressures, but it depends on the type and style of siding used. In this instance, it’s a good idea to check the siding manufacturer’s website for cleaning recommendations to minimize the potential for creating problems. It’s likely the manufacturer will recommend lower pressure settings than typically used for sidewalks and driveways. There are also specific types of cleaners recommended for fiber-cement siding.

When to Use Pressure Washing

Pressure washing uses a wand that expels water at 2,500 PSI (pounds per square inch) or more. While this amount of pressure is highly effective for removing stains, there is a possibility that it could damage some softer surfaces of your Illinois or Missouri home’s exterior. It may remove paint from wood, damage shingles, destroy window screens, or disturb your siding.

Pressure washing is best for use on surfaces like:

  • Concrete sidewalks, driveways, and walkways
  • Paved patios
  • Brick, stone, and other durable surfaces

When to Use Soft Washing

Water used to soft wash your home won’t have PSI over 1,000, which is less than half of the PSI used for pressure washing. Rather than relying on pressure to clean your home, soft washing uses formulated detergents and “dwell time” to clean those surfaces.

Soft washing is recommended for surfaces like:

  • Cedar shake
  • Wood panel siding
  • Stucco and coquina
  • Screens, screened enclosures, and lanais
